Word’s Shortcut keys for applying headings is defaulted as (Alt+Ctrl+#) whereby the number reflects what level the actual heading would be. For instance, Alt+Ctrl+1 will be Heading One and Alt+Ctrl+2 will be Heading Two and so forth.
I have taken that concept and have expanded it for the user. By remembering the hierarchy of numbers 1-9 you can virtually apply any style (Body Text is the Control key); (Indent key is the Alt), etc., with a simple guess. For instance if you have a signature block and you want it indented. Just Press Alt+ a number (Guess). If you select Alt+5 and it only brings you out to the 2” marker then just press Alt+6 and see if you like that. Once you get the appropriate indent correct, then all you need to do is adjust the spacing before and after which you can use the Shortcut keys for “0”.
By using the shortcut keys to format your document, you are decreasing the chances that the document will become corrupted in future editing sessions. This problem is avoided because you are applying the correct style to the appropriate paragraph without having to use 5 or 6 keystrokes or the mouse.
